L'Évanescence du Désir

Montreal, 2011 - Kinetic Installation - Motors, Nylon, Wood, Speaker, Electronic - Presented at the Chat des Artistes and 2 prints were presented during the exhibition: Networking Tips for Shy People in Brooklyn.

The work is a pun on the physicality of romantic kitch such as the boy pushing a girl on the swing. For the project I choose to only use broom sticks and kitchen cutting board as construction material for the mechanism as the whole project takes a poke at the constant commodification of gender rôle in traditionalist perspective. The motion of the swing was synchronize to a karaoke sountrack of me singing Only You - by the Platters.
